Anita Hernandez

Anita is a wife, and mother of 4 handsome boys. Before even knowing that being a Doula was a profession, she was naturally supporting friends, loved ones, and even a few friends of friends in the role of a doula. She became the go-to gal when women were pregnant back in her hometown. It was later, after relocating to Texas, she realized that she could formally train. She is self-studied and also received formal birth doula training through Childbirth International, gaining even more knowledge to assist mothers with. She has over 15 years of experience of supporting mothers during birth, and has served mothers that have birthed 18 babies (not a typo) to first time moms. Her expertise and experience with birthing mothers has led her to midwifery. She is currently an advanced student midwife through Ancient Arts Midwifery Institute along with apprenticeship at the Natural Birthing Center: Salado, with the eventual goal of providing midwifery services locally. Anita also provides lactation support and education alongside her doula services. She has real life experience, having nursed all 4 of her boys along with being a trained lactation counselor through Childbirth International. She is also the Founder / President of Grace For Mothers, a local non-profit that provides resources, tools, education and events to mothers through pregnancy and beyond. Last, but not least, she believes in both the power of prayer & chocolate….and tons of each!
